Justice for Kilmar: A Community Effort
The Presidential plan to bring our neighbor and aspiring countryman home.
Dear Neighbors,
One of our own was taken off the streets, deprived of due process rights, and is being held in a mega-prison in another country.
A man by the name of Kilmar Abrego Garcia of Maryland was detained by ICE, stripped of the right to due process, and shipped to El Salvador (his country of origin).
Right now, many believe the Trump administration is operating on behalf of the will of the people by declaring a state of emergency and enacting powers provided by “The Alien Enemies Act of 1798.” However, there are many more who see Trump’s effort as a violation of due process starting with “undocumented immigrants.
Why the quotes around undocumented immigrants? Consider this, if these individuals only had an opportunity to engage with ICE agents (hopefully in good faith), then the power to hold someone against their will, and possibly sent to a foreign nation and imprisoned (possibly for life) would be in the hands of the ICE agent.
First, they came for the students speaking up for the genocide in Palestine, then they came for “undocumented immigrants” (could be any of us since due process was stripped away), how long until they come for you?
My friends on the right, let’s play out a hypothetical…Imagine I were to become President in 2028, and I decided that all MAGA supporters were sent to a foreign country to be imprisoned for an undetermined amount of time because they were “Undocumented Immigrants.” Do you see the slippery slope that comes with relinquishing the right to due process?
If they can do it to our neighbors, they can do it to us. The courts are not the protectors, WE are!
This is a plan to ensure that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is returned home safely, has his day in court, and restores order.
